Greetings Graduate Students,

Welcome to the University of South Carolina. I would like to thank you for visiting BGSA’s website hope it answers any questions you have about our organization and USC. My name is Dantrayl Smith. I am a 2nd year graduate student from Memphis, Tennessee in the Department of Higher Education Student Affairs. I received my Bachelors of Science degree in the field of Electrical Engineering at Iowa State University in 2006. Currently, I work as a Graduate Assistant for the Office of Residential Learning Initiatives.

I’ve worked with numerous programs in the past including, The Minority Undergraduate Fellows Program (MUFP), Math and Science Program for Minority Students (MS2), Denison University Staff, and Special Programs at the University of New Mexico.

The Black Graduate Student Association is focused on assisting you in all of your needs. We offer different resources to assist you as you work towards your Masters or Doctorate degrees. Our focus is to foster an academic, professional, and social environment for Black graduate students to enhance your overall experience while at USC.
