Dr. Anthony Edwards Memorial Scholarship

The Black Graduate Student Association and the Black Faculty and Staff Association have partnered to sponsor the Dr. Anthony Edwards Memorial Scholarship. Dr. Edwards was assistant dean of the Graduate School, a loyal member of the BFSA and a long-time advisor to the BGSA. His tragic and untimely death in the spring of 2007 left both organizations devastated, yet inspired and motivated to ensure that his legacy of education lived on.

Dr. Edwards inspired many and had an insatiable thirst for fine arts and education. The Dr. Anthony Edwards Memorial Scholarship was established in the Spring of 2008. A scholarship in the amount of $750 is awarded to one graduate student each academic year.

Complete application packages that meet all the criteria are voted on by the Scholarship committee, which is comprised of members of the BGSA and the BFSA.
