Greetings,
The Black Graduate Student Association at the University of South Carolina (USC) welcomes you to our state, our city, our campus, our home, and our website. As an organization and as individual members, we are working to enhance ourselves not only in our academic pursuits, but also through leadership and professional development, committing ourselves to serving the Carolina community, and through socializing and networking. By embracing different academic philosophies, understanding different cultures, and through navigating the professional landscape, we hope to realize the greatest of our own potential.
As an organization comprising of many students from many different disciplines and backgrounds, we are steadfast in our goal of supporting the efforts National Black Graduate Student Association. We are a student run organization dedicated to fostering an academic, professional, and social environment for Black graduate students, while also serving as aid in advocating the needs and concerns of Black graduate students at USC. However, our efforts are not unique to Black graduate students. We also work toward a unifying purpose of bettering the idea of “humanity” within all of the Carolina community.
It is my sincere hope that you will be pleased with this website and use this as a resource to learn more about our organization. We wish to hear from you and I hope that you will take time to email one of the many organizational leaders who work hard to make the BGSA at USC a great student organization. Please feel free connect with us and to share your ideas by emailing us at SOBGSA@mailbox.sc.edu. We look forward to a continued interaction with you!
Sincerely,
