About Us

Established 2009

Before we became an official student organization, the team played in two disc golf National Championships (2007, 2009).

In 2007, Scott Odom won the Individual National Championship title for the Gamecocks and teamed up with Chris Kilgus to also win the Doubles National Championship title.

In 2009, the Gamecocks placed 16th overall and Team Captain, Alan Kane, finished 15th in the individual competition.

In 2010, we finished 18th overall and Tim Jeffreys placed 35th in the individual competition. We also competed in the SouthEast Collegiate Open where we finished 4th overall and won an automatic seed into the 2011 National Championships.

In 2011, the team won their first team title at the second annual Georgia Tech Invitational. The trophy is on display in a case at the Strom Thurmond Fitness Center. Alan Kane and Mike Buck tied for second in individual competition and teamed up to win the doubles competition.

At the 2011 National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships the team finished 19th out 36 in the overall and 17th in doubles. Team Captain, Alan Kane, placed 10th individually earning First Team All-American honors.
