Every spring, we publish a small volume of outstanding undergraduate poetry and prose from USC and beyond. Now in its ninth year, The Lettered Olive accepts work from November through February of each year. All submissions are considered for a modest monetary prize, awarded to the top entries in poetry and prose as reviewed by a guest faculty judge. We hold an annual reading each April in honor of the new publication and our published authors.
We are now actively seeking submissions for our spring 2011 edition! Undergraduate students are encouraged to submit entries of poetry, fiction, or creative nonfiction for consideration in our literary volume. Please adhere to the following guidelines:
>> No more than five poems and/or 5,000 words of prose per entry. Students may submit in multiple categories.
>> Previously published material will not be accepted.
>> Please include a cover page for each separate entry, containing the following information: author's name, email address, mailing address and institution; title of work[s]; genre of work[s].
>> Author's name should not appear on any subsequent pages. These works are judged anonymously.
>> Double space prose entries and single space poetry entries. A legible, 12 pt font is preferred.
>> DEADLINE: Submissions must be emailed to SOLIVE@MAILBOX.SC.EDU by 5PM, February 25th, 2011.
Thank you for your interest. Please direct any inquiries to solive@mailbox.sc.edu. We look forward to reading your submissions!
