About Rotaract

Carolina Rotaract, officially known as the Rotaract Club of the University of South Carolina, is the USC chapter of a worldwide service organization affiliated with Rotary International. Our club is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Spring Valley. Chartered in November of 2012, we are eager to serve our local, regional, and international communities in any way we are able. Rotary International is the world's oldest and largest service organization originating in February of 1905 and consisting of over 1.2 million Rotarians and 180,000 Rotaractors worldwide. In 1947, Rotary was given a seat at the United Nations and to this day remains the ONLY non-governmental organization to have a seat at the UN. They are most well known for their success in eradicating the disease Polio from all but three countries (Pakistan, Nigeria, and Afghanistan). Rotaract, as a daughter organization to Rotary, follows in their footsteps living up to the motto "Service Above Self".
