Our Deltas
St. Jude's Patient of the Month

Children's Cancer Charities encompasses a wide array of charitable organizations. Tri Deltas across the United States and Canada have donated goods, volunteered time and held fund-raisers for the research and treatment of a disease for which 240,000 children are diagnosed each year. Since 1974, Tri Deltas have raised more than $10 million in support of children's cancer hospitals, research facilities and cancer camps.

In November 1999, Tri Delta further enhanced its current philanthropic focus by forming a partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. This partnership allows Tri Delta chapters the option to help St. Jude on a national level as well as support traditional philanthropic events for local children's cancer charities.

Each year, the Alpha Lambda Chapter here at USC organize a philanthropic event in which all the proceeds go to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.  In past years we have done events including "Frats at Bat" and the "Tri Delta Tee-Off". We also organized "Bowl for Cole" which was a bowling tournament for a local child named Cole Sawyer who was bravely fighting cancer.  The proceeds from the tournament went to Camp Kemo in honor of Cole Sawyer.

This year we started a new event Carnival for a Cure. This carnival allowed us to invite children from our local Children's Hospital, Palmetto Health, and allowed us more interaction with the community.
